Chapter 2 Preparations
Installation
Install a PCI card to connect to a PCI slot by using the following procedure.
1.
Before installation, make sure the switch or jumper settings on the PCI card are proper according to
the instruction manual supplied with the card if necessary.
2.
See Chapter 2 (1.2 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
3.
To remove the side cover, see Chapter 2 (1.3 Removing the Side Cover).
4.
Open the PCI slot retention latch.
5.
Remove the blank cover aligned with the slot where
you will install a card.
6.
Face the component side of the card toward the bottom of the server. Make sure PCI bracket aligns
and sit appropriate within frame guide.

Important
Keep the removed blank cover for future use.
