5.6.1.3 Trap Setting for Alert Destination
This page allows user to view event traps, which are similar to event alerts. With Administrator or Operator
privilege level, user can add destination addresses and enable/disable SNMP alerts when click Apply
Changes button. SNMP Traps are used by a management station to receive unsolicited data from the
embedded software. For systems with a large number of nodes, it may not be efficient for a management
station to poll each controller for every condition that may occur. Example event traps could help a
management station with load balancing between nodes or by issuing an alert if an authentication failure
occurs.
