Always use the unit to make recordings.
HOLD Switch
Both the unit and the remote control are
equipped with a HOLD switch. To operate the
keys, release the HOLD switch before operating
the keys. Key operation is not accepted when
HOLD status is engaged. -> (60)
Recording from a Tuner or Microphone (Manual Recording)
Engage Record Standby status.
@ Insert a recordable MiniDisc and press the
RECORDING
key.
@ When recording a radio broadcast, tune in
the radio station beforehand.
@ When making an analog recording from a
CD or other medium, play back the track you
want to record.

making a digital recording
from a CD, set the CD player into

Pause status and the MiniDisc
recorder into Record Standby status.
®{f the portable CD player or other
audio equipment is equipped with
Arrow mark
anonskip function (P 62), cancel the
function before starting to record.
Adjust the volume level. (Only for analog input)
At maximum
volume set the level so
that it fluctuates between -4dB and OdB.
Adjust with either the 1<« key
or the mpi key.

levels that are too high.
® When the recording level display is switched from "MIC H" to "MIC L" or other setting,
the audio will momentarily stop. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
@ When recording from a microphone, make sure no device is connected to the unit's
