at a high speed, as in the case of

the so-called TOC area, and based on these data,
a song can be selected instantly.

As a
result, music can be played back without sound skips - even when the unit receives an impact
from an external source or when the signal from the optical pickup is interrupted.

Auto Power Save Function
This unit is equipped with a Nonskip Playback Memory to minimize the number of skips that occur
during playback because of impacts.
In order to conserve battery life when the unit is powered by rechargeable batteries or alkaline
batteries, a short audio signal storage time is set. This is called the Auto Power Save function.
When the unit is used in locations where impacts are likely to occur, skips can be minimized by
turning the Auto Power Save function off. With the function off, the total continuous playing time
of the unit will be about 20% less than normal.
Changing the Auto Power Save Setting
Press and hold down the DISPLAY key on either the unit or the remote control for at least 2
seconds.
Operation changes as follows each time the key is pressed:
J "Psave off"
: Auto Power Save function is off (data storage time is

about 10 seconds)
