Troubleshooting
Unit fails to turn
ON.
There is no
sound.
The unit does
not respond to
key operation.
Sound skips.
The MiniDisc
cannot be
removed from
the unit.
Recording or
editing is not
possible.
@ The AC adaptor is disconnected.
® The battery is depleted.
@ HOLD status is engaged.
@ The volume is at minimum level.
® The remote control or headphones are
disconnected.
@ HOLD status is engaged.
® The battery is depleted.
® The remote control or headphone plug is
not securely inserted.
@ The battery is depleted.
© The unit is in a place where there is
excessive vibration.
@ Track numbers and other written data are
being written to the disc ("TOC EDIT!" is
displayed).
@ Recording or editing is in progress.
® The MiniDisc's erase protector is in the Open
(engaged) position.
® Other equipment is not properly connected.
@ The AC adapter was disconnected or a
power failure occurred during recording or
editing.
@ The HOLD function (which prevents
accidental key operation) is engaged.
Resetting the unit

Remove the rechargeable battery.
} Wait about 30 seconds.
