1. Extend the RF/EQ (F8) board.
2. Connect the oscilloscope
(500mV/DIV, 1msec) and CH2 to TP2 (5V/DIV,
1msec). Set the Trigger channel to CH2. And set
the 20MHz BW LIMIT to ON.
3. Play back the alignment tape (VFM3580KM (L)).
4. Open B00 RF ADJUST in the Service Menu.
5. Open C00 PRO ADJUST in the Service Menu.
6. Open C-2: RP ADJUST in the Service Menu.
7. Adjust C03: RF MAG L and C04: RF MAG R in
the Service Menu so that the TP20 (CH1) DC
voltage "A" is in the specification. (Refer to the
following figure.)
Press the "SET" button when the adjustment is

9. Change the connection of the oscilloscope CH1
to TP10 (500mV/DIV, 1msec).
10. Playback the alignment tape (VFM3580KM (L))
11. Open B00 RF ADJUST in the Service Menu.
12. Open C00 PRO ADJUST in the Service Menu.
13. Open C-3: PB ADJUST in the Service Menu.
14. Adjust C03: RF MAG L and C04: RF MAG R in
the Service Menu so that the TP10 (CH1) DC
voltage "A" is in the specification. (Refer to the
following figure.)
15. Press the "SET" button when the adjustment is
completed.
16. With the same connection of the oscilloscope,
playback the DV alignment tape (VFM3010EDS).
17. Open B00 RF ADJUST in the Service Menu.
18. Open D00 DV ADJUST in the Service Menu.
19. Open D-2: RP ADJUST in the Service Menu.
20. Adjust C03: RF MAG L and C04: RF MAG R in
the Service Menu so that the TP10 (CH1) DC
voltage "A" is in the specification. (Refer to the
following figure.)
21. Press the "SET" button when the adjustment in
completed.

1. Install to the circuit board that was extended in
the previous adjustment item.
2. Insert the DVCPRO (VFM3580KM (L)) alignment
tape and play it back.
3. Open the Service Menu.
4. Open the B00: RF ADJUST in the Service Menu.
5. Open the C00: PRO ADJUST in the Service
Menu.
6. Open the C-2: RP ADJUST in the Service Menu.
7. Select the C40: VITERBI MODE and change the
setting from "ON" to "OFF".
8. Select C41: AEQ MODE and change the setting
from "ON" to "OFF".
9. Adjust the C01: RF PHS L and C02: RF PHS R
so that the error rate is at the minimum level.
(Set the adjustment values to the maximum
number and adjust the error rate from the
incorrect condition.)
Press the "SET" button when the adjustment is
completed.
10. Press the "MENU" button to return to the C00:
PRO ADJUST in the Service Menu.
11. Open the C-3: PB ADJUST in the Service Menu.
12. Select the C40: VITERBI MODE and change the
setting from "ON" to "OFF".
13. Select C41: AEQ MODE and change the setting
from "ON" to "OFF".
14. Adjust the C01: RF PHS L and C02: RF PHS R
so that the error rate is at the minimum level.
(Set the adjustment values to the maximum
number and adjust the error rate from the
incorrect condition.)
Press the "SET" button when the adjustment is
completed.
15. Insert the DV alignment tape (VFM3010EDS) and
play it back.
16. Open the D00: DV ADJUST in the Service Menu.
17. Open the D-2: RP ADJUST in the Service Menu.
18. Select the D40: VITERBI MODE and change the
setting from "ON" to "OFF".
19. Select the D41: AEQ MODE and change the
setting from "ON" to "OFF".
20. Adjust the D01: RF PHS L and D02: RF PHS R
so that the error rate is at the minimum level.
(Set the adjustment values to the maximum
number and adjust the error rate from the
incorrect condition.)
Press the "SET" button when the adjustment is
completed.
