Review Playback (Reverse Picture Search)
Press the REWIND/REVIEW button when the VCR is in the playback mode.

appears in the display. You can now view the playback picture
in the reverse direction at 5 times (SP mode) or 7 times (LP mode) or 9 times (EP mode) the speed
of normal playback.
Also, in the SP mode, the JET Search function can be operated during review playback.

Slow playback
Press the slow
(-)/(+)
buttons.
The slow playback indicator "PLAY
01>1 "and the Slow Remain time (maximum 5 minutes) will be
shown in the display. The slow playback starts at
1/1
a of normal playback speed. When the VCR is in
the On-Screen Display ON mode. "PLAY 1/10" indication will appear on the TV screen.
The speed of the slow playback can be set to 1/5, 1/10 or 1/30 of normal playback.
Press the slow (+) button; the speed increases in steps. (1/10 - 1/5 or 1/30 - 1/10)
Press the slow (-) button the speed decreases in steps. (1/5 - 1/10) or 1/10 - 1/30)
Adjust the Slow Tracking control if the TV image (during Slow Playback) has noise bars or jitters.
If the tape is recorded in the LP mode, the picture may appear" wavy" near the top of the TV
screen. This is normal.
If the VCR is left in the Slow mode for more than
5
minutes (after the Slow Remain time shows
(aMaaS), the unit will resume normal playback speed automatically to protect the tape and video
heads.
The sti II picture can be advanced in a frame-by-frame manner each time the slow (-) button is pressed.

When playback has ended, Press the STOP button.

• When the picture rolls vertically in the cue or review modes, adjust the vertical hold control on the
TV set.

Counter Memory indicator
Use the self-adhesive labels supplied with
the video cassette to identify your tape.
COUNTER OPERATION
CD
At the beginning of the tape, press the RESET button. This will set the counter to show "0000".
During recording or playback make a note of the program along with the corresponding counter num-
ber. Later, when using the fast forward or rewind modes, you can easily find the sections that you
previously ident ified.
COUNTER MEMORY OPERATION
CV
Press the MEMORY button. The VCR is set to counter memory mode
([0
indicator lights in the
display.)
When in the rewind or fast forward mode, the tape will stop automatically near the point where the
counter shows '0000'.
You can use this function to return to the beginning of a recording quickly and easily.
