Organization refers to the company that you entered when you registered your account. Subgroups represent
partners, other companies, and other departments within companies.
4. On the Adding a Subgroup page, enter a Group Name, Display Name, and Description for the subgroup.
NOTE: The Group Name and Display Name are required.
5. Click Add.
6. On the Add Group page, click Next.
The Users page is displayed.
7. If you want to invite and add users to your groups, select the desired group or subgroup to which the user is to be
added and click Invite User.
NOTE: When "invited," a user receives an e-mail notification that includes logon information including a user
name, password, and a link to the License Portal.
8. On the Inviting a User page, enter the First Name, Last Name, User ID (that is, the e-mail address) for the user.
9. Under User Rights, select the type of rights this user needs.
You can select one of the following options:
Admin
Read Only
View Groups Only
10. Click Add.
11. On the Users page, click Next.
The Add Core page is displayed.
12. To download and add the AppAssure 5 Core, select the desired group to which you want to add the Core, and then
click Add Core.
NOTE: You must have administrative rights to download and add a core. The Dell AppAssure 5 Core is the
central component of AppAssure 5. It stores and manages all the machine backups and provides core
services for backup, recovery and retention; replication, archival, and management.
The Adding a Core page is displayed.
NOTE: On this page you can download a version of the Core installer package to be installed from your local
machine or a Web installer, which runs directly from the Web. The Installer downloads the executable file in
one task, while the Web Installer streams a download of the latest version of AppAssure 5 Core and let you
pause and resume the process as needed. You can also download and install the Central Management
Console, which is used to manage multiple cores.
13. When you have downloaded the installer, click Finish.
NOTE: By default, the software you download is valid for 14 days. If you are a new customer, your license is
automatically activated by AppAssure. After you have successfully downloaded the installer, you receive an
e-mail with your license key.
14. On the Add Core page, click Next.
The Add Agent page is displayed.
15. On the Add Agent page, next to the type of machine (either 64-bit or 32-bit) on which you install the agent software,
click Download.
