Editing User Security Privileges

NOTE: A user's access rights are inherited by their subgroup.
To edit user security privileges:
1.
On the License Portal Home page, select a group in the left navigation area.
2.
Expand the Users area.
3.
Next to the user you wish to modify, click Actions and then click Privileges.
The User Security dialog box is displayed.
4.
Select the appropriate user rights for this user.
You can choose from the following options:
Admin
Read Only
View Groups Only
5.
Click Save.
The newly assigned privilege level is displayed in the Privilege Type column.

Revoking User Privileges

To revoke user privileges:
1.
On the License Portal Home page, select a group in the left navigation area.
2.
Expand the Users area.
3.
Next to the user you wish to modify, click Actions and then click Revoke all privileges.
A confirmation message is displayed for you to verify that you want to revoke group privileges.
4.
Upon confirming the user identified is the user for whom you want to revoke privileges, click OK.

About Groups

Groups represent partners, companies, and subgroups within companies. They contain the following information and
structure:
Organization information.
Links to the download installer to download the AppAssure 5 Core and agents.
Unlimited number of cores.
Other groups, with no limit to depth.
The group name must be unique. The group display name does not have to be unique.
A group can be deleted only if there are no subgroups or cores associated with it.
Groups must contain at least one user with access rights assigned to it. When the user logs in, the license portal
represents the account as a root group.
Groups can have many users with access rights assigned to it.
Groups contain license pools and a license pool amount. The number zero (0) represents an unlimited license
pool. For a subgroup, the number zero (0) signifies that licenses is drawn from the parent license pool.
Provides full access to portal content including the ability to create, edit, and delete users,
groups, cores, and agents.
Provides view-only access to portal content.
Limits access to viewing a list subgroups.
