Users pay for only the licenses that are used. For example, if the license pool for the group is 50 licenses and only three
are in use, they are only billed for the three licenses in use. Bills are generated on the first day of each month for the
previous month.
Enterprise licenses are counted in the same manner; however, because they are licenses in perpetuity, monthly billing
does not occur.

About Disposing Of Licenses

You can choose to dispose of a license by either deactivating or uninstalling the AppAssure 5 application. Whether you
choose to dispose of or uninstall the AppAssure 5 application, the actual disposition occurs at the beginning of the next
month.

Configuring Advanced License Portal Settings

NOTE: The Advanced tab is only available to users with administrative rights.
To configure advanced settings:
1.
On the Home page in the AppAssure 5 License Portal, select a group, and then click Settings from the drop-down
list.
The Settings dialog box is displayed.

Click the Advanced tab and in the Service Polling Settings area, enter the information as described below.

Managing Registered Machines

The registered machines view is a tree control that displays the AppAssure 5 Cores and agents that are installed. This
view lets you view and manage licenses on a machine-by-machine basis, add a core, or add an agent.
To manage registered machines:
1.
On the Home page in the AppAssure 5 License Portal, select a group, and then scroll down to view and expand the
Registered Machines area of the page.
A list of agents are nested in their respective AppAssure Cores. The following information is listed for all registered
machines:
Status
Machine name
Version (of AppAssure)
OS (Operating System)
License type

Description
Enter a value for the polling interval. The default value of the polling interval is 60 minutes.
The polling interval determines how often the software communicates with the portal. The
value is in minutes.
Enter a value for the grace period. The maximum number you can enter is 15 days.
The grace period determines how long the software operates without communicating
with the portal service.
