A switch critical failure is indicated by a flashing amber light, for example, the Brocade 6545 16
Gbps FC Switch Module has detected that the temperature has risen above the normal thermal
threshold. The switch continues to operate after a critical failure is detected.
A switch fatal failure is indicated by a steady amber light. The switch continues to operate after a
fatal failure is detected.
For detailed information about the fault or failure condition, consult the Fujitsu PRIMERGY BX900
S2 or BX400 Blade Server Management Blade (MMB) error log.

Description
Controlled by the Fujitsu PRIMERGY BX900 S2 or
BX400 Blade Server Management Blade. Used to
identify switch location for maintenance purposes.
LED is lit when the Switch Module operates
normally and no errors have been detected. All
internal and external ports are ready for use.
LED is off when the Switch Module is powered
off or when power has failed.
Flashing LED indicates a fault condition.
Steady green (amber is off): The Switch Module
operates normally and no errors have been
detected. All internal and external ports are
ready for use.
Flashing green (amber is off): The Switch
Module is powering up, and running diagnostics
and initialization programs.
Flashing amber (green is off). Critical failures
have occurred inside the Switch Module.
Steady amber (green is off). Fatal failures have
occurred inside the Switch Module.
The Switch Module is shut down and powered off
normally.
