Setting Up a Network-connected Printer

You have to set up the network protocols on the printer to use it as your network machine.
Setting protocols can be accomplished by using the supplied network program. Please refer
to SyncThru User's Guide .
You can configure the basic network parameters through the printer's operator panel. Use
the printer operator panel to do the following:

Double-click your printer icon.
Click the Printer menu and point to Properties.
Click the Ports tab and point to Add Port.
Click Local Port and point to New Port.
Fill in the Enter a port name field and enter the shared name.
Click OK and point to Close.
For Windows NT 4.0, click OK.
For Windows 2000/XP, click Apply and point to OK.
Enable or disable network protocols (IPX/SPX)
Configure TCP/IP
Configure IPX frame types

10/100 Base-TX
• Windows 98/Me, NT 4.0/2000/XP
• Unix AT&T, BSD4.3, HP-UX, SUN OS, SOLARIS, SCO
• Linux RedHat 6.0 or higher
• Netware IPX/SPX
• TCP/IP, DLC/LLC on Windows
• Port9100 on Windows NT, Unix, Linux
