Image by image—Activate one image on all slots before activating another image.
In standalone mode:
When you install an image, you must begin with the active MPU.
When you upgrade an image, you must begin with the standby MPU.
In IRF mode:
When you install an image, you must begin with the master. On each member device, begin with
the active MPU.
When you upgrade an image, you must begin with a subordinate device. On each member device,
begin with the standby MPU.
When you install or upgrade images on an active MPU, the system automatically upgrades its LPUs and
switching fabric modules. You do not need to upgrade their software separately.
Installing or upgrading images for PEXs
Perform this task in an eIRF system when only PEXs need to be upgraded.
