6.1.3 Thermistor Selection

This function is used to control the indoor temperature using
remote controller sensor instead of Inlet Air Thermistor in the
indoor unit.

N O T E
• Even if remote controller sensor controls the indoor temperature,
the temperature of Inlet Air Thermistor in the indoor unit is used for
the protection control such as frost prevention related to Inlet Air
Thermistor.
• When remote controller sensor controls the indoor temperature
and the abnormal temperature is detected due to a failure such as
a malfunction of remote controller sensor, the control automatically
switches to Inlet Air Thermistor in the indoor unit.
• To use remote controller sensor, install the wired remote controller
where:
- The average room temperature can be detected.
- The remote controller is not exposed to direct sunshine or direct
light.
- The unit is not close proximity to a heat source.
- The wired remote controller is not affected by the outside air due
to opening or closing the door and so forth.
• If two wired remote controllers are used as the main and sub, only
remote controller sensor of the main remote controller is available.
• This function is not effective when using the remote temperature
sensor (connected to THM4 on indoor unit main PCB). The remote
temperature sensor is prioritized excluding outside air processing air
conditioners.
1 Select "Installation Menu" on the Service & Installation
screen and press "OK".
2 Select "Thermistor Selection" setting and press "OK".

3 If " " or " " is pressed, the setting items are selected in the
following order: "IDU" ↔ "Remote" ↔ "Average". Select the
setting item and press "OK" to confirm the setting.
Select:
• "Remote" to control the indoor unit with the remote controller
sensor.
• "IDU" to control the unit with its air inlet sensor.
• "Average" to control the unit with the average value of the air
inlet sensor and the remote controller sensor.

N O T E
This setting and C8 setting in function selection menu have the same
impact. Setting a value in the thermistor selection menu automatically
updates the value of the value of parameter C8 in the function selection
menu and vice versa (refer to element C8 at
Items for Function Selection" for details).
4 Press " " to return to the "Installation Menu"screen.
