Hitachi Gigabit Router GR2000-B Series Installation Guide
Caution
Move the device carefully. Before doing so, unplug the power and other cables.
Failure to follow this warning may damage the router or cables, or could cause
fire or electric shock.
Don't pile this equipment up on top of on another when moving it. Try to store
each device in it's own box when transporting it to prevent it from being deformed
or damaged.
Do not put the power cable near a heating apparatus. Doing so melts the coating
of the cable and can cause a fire or electric shock.
Always hold the power plug when
inserting or removing the power cable
into or from and outlet Pulling on the
cable can causes the wires to break.
This router contains a lithium battery
for the real-time clock. Mishandling this
battery may cause heat build-up,
damage, or in an extreme case,
explosion or fire. Do not remove the
battery from the router, attempt to
disassemble it, or expose it to
temperatures of over 100°C (212°F).
Do not step on the router or place heavy
objects on it weighing more than 5 kg
on the device. Doing so can damage it.
While the access indicator (ACCESS) for
a memory card is lit, the memory card is
being accessed. DO NOT pull out a
memory card or turn off the power
switch while the memory card is being
accessed. If so, you could permanently
damage the memory card. Some
commands require a long time to finish
accessing a memory card when they are
executed. Make sure that the access to a memory card is finished before pulling it
out or turning off the power switch.
Be careful with the laser outputs on optical network
interfaces. The board with the label below shows that a laser
is used in it. As the amount of its emission is small, there is
no risk of damaging your skin. Still, never look into the
output directly. There is nothing to see inside.
Wear a wrist strap to prevent static electricity. Without a wrist strap, the device
might be damaged due to static electricity.
Do not over tighten the attachment screws when connecting a cable to the router.
Over tightening the screws could cause them to break. Use only a small,
flat-blade screwdriver to tighten the screws so as not to exert excessive torque on
the screws.
Be careful how you handle the NIFs. Since they are static sensitive, handle NIFs
only by the board edges. When you store NIFs, place them in anti-static
packaging and protect them from physical damage.
