Adding Users to the Local Database

Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to add
users to the local user database.

configure
name
username
password
password
level
] [encrypted]
exit
show users accounts

Controlling Management Access
Purpose
Enter Global Configuration mode.
Add a new user to the local users database.
[level
name
— The name of the user. (Range: 1-20 characters)
password
(Range: 8-64 characters. This value can be 0 [zero] if the
no passwords min-length command has been executed.)
level
— Supported levels are:
– 15: Read-Write access
– 1: Read-Only access
– 0: Suspend (this can be assigned by a level 15 user to
another user to suspend that user's access.
• encrypted — Encrypted password entered, copied from
another switch configuration.
Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
View the users configured in the local database.
— The authentication password for the user.
