Configuring Port Monitoring

To configure port monitoring, use the following example:

Verify that the intended monitoring port has no
configuration other than

Create a monitoring session using the command monitor
session from CONFIGURATION mode

Specify the source and destination port and direction of
traffic

Note: By default, all uplink ports are assigned to port-channel (LAG) 128 and the destination port in a port
monitoring session must be an uplink port. When you configure the destination port using the source
command, the destination port is removed from LAG 128. To display the uplink ports currently assigned to
LAG 128, enter the show lag 128 command.
To display information on currently configured port-monitoring sessions, use the
command from EXEC Privilege mode
