Loop Keys

Loop keys simplify answering and placing calls.
Loop keys are Feature Keys that simplify the way you place and answer outside calls. There are two types of loop keys:
Switched Loop keys and Fixed Loop keys.
Switched Loop Keys
For incoming calls, Switched Loop keys are for any of your outside lines that don't have their own line key. If a line is set to
ring your phone, and it doesn't have a line key, it will ring in on a Swiched Loop key.
For outgoing calls, Switched Loop keys give you quick access to Line Groups. For example, instead of pressing
and dialing
for Line Group 91, just press the Switched Loop key and dial
91
lines, a Switched Loop key can give you access to the other line groups in your system. See Line Group Routing on page 122
and Line Groups on page 123 for more.
Fixed Loop Keys
For incoming calls, a Fixed Loop key works just like a Switched Loop key. If a line is set to ring your phone, and it doesn't
have a line key, it will ring in on a Fixed Loop key.
For outgoing calls, use a Fixed Loop key to place a call on a preassigned Line Group. When you press the key, you get the
first line in the preassigned group.
