3. Installing and Connecting the Disk Expansion
Unit
INSTALLING
Install the Disk Expansion Unit in a standard EIA 19-inch rack assembly.
For more information on the rack installation, refer to the manual that comes with the rack, or
consult your sales agent.
Always observe the following cautions to use the Disk Expansion Unit safely.
Failure to follow these instructions may cause death or serious personal injury.
Refer to the Safety Notes section for more information.
Do not use the Disk Expansion Unit in any place other than specified.
Do not connect the ground wire to a gas pipe.

Do not attempt to carry or install the Disk Expansion Unit by yourself.
Do not concentrate the load on a specific point when installing the rack.

Do not pull out a device from the rack if the rack is unstable.
Do not let the wiring for the rack exceed the rating of the power supply.
