To use the default Alternate Greeting, you must turn it on to activate the greeting. When an Alternate
Greeting is active, the system plays it instead of any of your other greetings. See
Presence and Alternate
You must turn on the Busy Greeting to set the system to play the greeting when you are on the phone. See
"Turning the Busy Greeting On or
To return to using a default Presence, Alternate, or Busy Greeting after you have recorded a custom
recording, you must delete the custom recording.
Ask your system manager for assistance, or use the Mailbox Manager to delete the greeting.

Changing Presence Greetings

Presence Greetings play when your extension is unanswered. A personalized Standard Greeting is "Hello,
this is Paul Green. I am not at my desk right now. Please leave a message." A personalized In a Meeting
Greeting my be "Hello, this is Paul Green. I am in a meeting right now. Please leave a message." Please
note that the available greetings will vary, depending on the way your administrator has configured the
system.
When you do not record a personalized Presence Greeting, the messaging system plays the default greeting
and includes your recorded name. For example for the In a Meeting Greeting, "Paul Green is in a
meeting."
During enrolment, you might record a personalized Standard Greeting. If you prefer to use the system
default Standard Greeting, do not record a greeting during enrolment. Your personalized Standard Greeting
might say "Hi this is Paul, I cannot take your call right now. Please leave a message and I will return your
call as soon as I am available."

To change your current Presence Greeting using the Web Mailbox
Manager (WMM)

Sign in to the Web Mailbox Manager (WMM).
Click the Greetings tab.

Click Edit next to the currently selected greeting (indicated by the presence of a radio button).

The Audio Applet window appears.

Use the Audio Applet to record the greeting.

When you are satisfied with the recording, click Save.

When prompted to save the recording to the voice messaging server, click Yes.
