RAID adapter replacement

Use this information to remove and install the RAID adapter on the system board.
Notes:
• For a list of the supported RAID adapters, see:

• Depending on the specific type, your RAID adapter might look different from the illustrations in this topic.
Attention: Replacing the RAID adapter might impact your RAID configurations. Back up your data before
you begin to avoid any data loss due to a RAID configuration change.

Remove the RAID adapter

Use this information to remove the RAID adapter on the system board.
Note: The following procedure applies to the RAID adapter installed on the system board. For the procedure
about removing the RAID adapter installed on the riser assembly, refer to "Remove a PCIe adapter" on page
74.
Before removing the RAID adapter:
1. Remove the top cover. See "Remove the top cover" on page 42.
2. Disconnect any cables that might impede your access to the RAID adapter.
3. Record the cable connections on the RAID adapter and then disconnect all cables from the RAID
adapter. For more information about the cable connection, see "Internal cable routing" on page 27.
To remove the RAID adapter on the system board, complete the following steps:
