Setting Up the Virtual Machine

Refer to the VMware vSphere documents for how to set up a virtual machine. Refer to User's Guide and the
VMware vSphere documents for setting the network configuration.
Important
When "E1000" or "E1000E" is specified for the network adapter type of the virtual
machine, the CPU module could not be incorporated during re-incorporation of the
virtual machine. Thus, do not use "E1000" or "E1000E".
For the network adapter type, specify a type other than "E1000" or "E1000E".
Important
The optical disk drive on the main unit is available only for installation of
VMware ESXi. If it is used to install the virtual machine, the ESXi host's system area
may be destroyed.
With the virtual machine, the optical disk drive on the main unit (i.e. host device) is not
Note
available.
To use the DVD drive of the virtual machine, insert the DVD into the DVD drive of the
machine in which Host Client is used, turn the power of the virtual machine ON, start up the
remote console (VMRC) from the console menu, and select [Removable Devices] of the
[VMRC] menu, [CD/DVD drive x], and DVD drive.
For details, refer to the VMware vSphere document.
