c. Verify that the tape loops line up with the center bolts of the vacuum columns. They should be even with
the bolts and with each other or slightly overlapping (less than an inch). If an adjustment is required, refer
to the "Reel Servo Adjustment" in Chapter V of DG's 6026 Maintenance Manual, contained in the 6026
Mag Tape Manual, Part 4.
d. Press the ON-LINE switch and verify that the ON LINE LED and the READY LED both light.
3. Check Communication with S/140.
a. Ensure that the S/140 is in Virtual Console mode, and the Virtual Console prompt (!) is present on the
alpha-numeric screen. If not, go to the S/140 front console, hold the UNLOCK switch, and press the
RESET switch; the prompt (!) should appear on the screen.
b. Observe the following dialog, and type the underlined responses:
! 0A xxxxxx 30 'LF'
! 100/ yyyyyy 061122 'CR'
! 000101 wwwwww 777 'LF'
