Device Method
Fire alarm When both the heat
horn/strobe detector and smoke
detector generate an
alarm, the fire alarm
horn/strobe generates a
harsh sound.
ASD Check the ASD sampling
pipes.
Remove or block a
sampling pipe.
Release smoke to the
furthest end of an ASD
sampling pipe.
Check the ASD operation
panel.
Check whether the
backup power is working
properly, and whether
the VESDA restarts
normally after the mains
power is disconnected.
ASD power Check the power
supply indicator.
Issue 04 (2021-02-10)
Check Standard
The fire alarm horn/strobe
generates glaring flashes and
shrill alarms.
The supports and connectors of
the sampling pipes are securely
connected.
An alarm is generated.
The ASD generates an alarm in
120s.
The ASD sends an alarm signal
to the host.
All indicators are normal.
The backup power is working
properly, and the VESDA
restarts normally after the
mains power is disconnected.
The power indicator turns on.

3 Routine Maintenance
Troubleshooting
1. Check cables
connected to the
fire alarm horn/
strobe. If a short
circuit or open
circuit is
identified,
reconnect the
cables.
2. If the fire alarm
horn/strobe does
not react, replace
it.
Replace damaged
sampling pipes, and
apply glue where
pipes are not well
sealed.

cables.
