Checking the Engine-Coolant
Level
Service Interval: Before each use or daily—Check
the coolant level in the expansion
tank.
The cooling system is filled with a 50/50 solution of
water and permanent ethylene-glycol antifreeze.
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, lower the
loader arms, engage the parking brake, and
shut off the engine.
2.
Remove the key from the key switch and allow
the engine to cool.
3.
Open the hood.
4.
Check the coolant level in the expansion tank.
Note:
The coolant level should be at or above
the mark on the side of the tank.

If the coolant level is low, remove the expansion
tank cap and add a 50/50 mixture of water and
permanent ethylene-glycol antifreeze.
Important:
Do not overfill the expansion
tank.
6.
Install the expansion-tank cap.
Changing the Engine
Coolant
Service Interval: Every 800 hours
Have an Authorized Service Dealer change the engine
coolant yearly.

Belt Maintenance

Checking the
Alternator-Belt Tension
Service Interval: Every 100 hours
1.
Apply 44 N (10 lb) of force to the alternator belt,
midway between the pulleys.
2.
If the deflection is not 10 mm (3/8 inch), loosen
the alternator mounting bolts.

Increase or decrease the alternator-belt tension.
4.
Tighten the mounting bolts.
5.
Check the deflection of the belt again to ensure
that the tension is correct.
