Control panels
The left/right control panels of the MX7000 include the LED and LCD display modules.
WARNING: Due to the weight of a fully populated MX7000 enclosure chassis, never install or pull a full chassis
out of a rack with ReadyRails. First remove each component before you lift or remove the chassis.
● Left control panel: The module is available in three configurations - LCD only, LCD with QuickSync, and LED only. For more
information, see Left control
● Right control panel: The module connects to the interposer board/main distribution board. It also houses the front accessible
ports such as two USB 2.0 ports for KVM control, one USB 2.0 Micro-AB direct management port, one Mini DisplayPort, and
a power button. For more information, see
NOTE: The right control panel contains the CMOS battery and the whole unit needs to be replaced if the battery fails.
WARNING: While replacing the CMOS battery ensure only Panasonic CR1025 is used.
Storage sled open warning
Ensure that you close the storage sled properly. If the storage sled is open, the drives may reach critical temperatures due
to insufficient airflow. To avoid this the PowerEdge MX7000 LCD displays a warning timer message countdown of 5 minutes.
When the storage sled is closed, the warning timer message countdown changes to the Home Menu.
Storage mapping alert
The PowerEdge MX7000 enclosures LCD displays a storage mapping alert message, when a slot with an assigned storage
mapping is replaced with a compute sled carrying a different service tag.
The PowerEdge MX7000 enclosure displays the alert message mentioned below:
Apply the slot assigned storage mappings to the newly inserted compute sled?
The available options are:
● YES: The existing slot assigned storage mapping is applied to the newly inserted compute sled, and a success message is
displayed on the LCD.
● NO: An alret message is displayed The existing storage mappings will be cleared, are you sure you
wish to continue? Tap Yes to complete the action.
