This function can be used to set
whether the connected telephone
wiring is a public switched tele-
phone network (PSTN) or a private
branch exchange (PBX). For a
PBX system, the outside line
access number (or extension num-
ber) must be specified.
3 PSTN/ PBX
Purpose Setting Details/Precautions
• The connected wiring sys-
tem can be set to either
PSTN (Public Switched Tele-
phone Network) or PBX (Pri-
vate Branch Exchange). For
a PBX system, the outside
line access number (or
extension number) must be
specified. The outside line
access number (or extension
number) is programmed in
the [#] key.
• The default setting is "PSTN".
