Cause
The connections are
incorrect.
The setting to not auto-
matically check for new e-
mail messages has been
specified.
The settings necessary
for the device are not reg-
istered.
The same POP3 user
name is being used by a
different e-mail applica-
tion or another user.
The LAN cable is dam-
aged.
An e-mail message with
data of an incompatible
format attached or with no
data was received.
The memory is full.
Since the size of the mail
is too large, the connec-
tion with the server times
out while the data is being
received.
It takes some time to
interrupt an Internet fax
reception.

Action
Check the LED indicator on the
hub, and check the connections.
Specify a time interval for automati-
cally checking for new e-mail mes-
sages.
Receive manually.
Specify the necessary network set-
tings.
Do not use the same POP3 user
name that is used by a different e-
mail application.
Replace the LAN cable.
Ask the sender to send a TIFF-F file
or text.
Print saved documents and reduce
the amount of memory that is used,
and then ask the sender to send the
data again.
Specify that the data be kept on the
computer, and delete the corre-
sponding e-mail messages from the
server.
Ask the sender to try sending e-mail
messages of smaller sizes.
Wait until the transmission is inter-
rupted.
