2. 15 kV
This observation condition tends to produce sharply defined images, suitable for
high-magnification observations.
When [15 kV] is selected, the [N] mark is displayed in the information area located in the
lower right part of the image observation area. (see 4.3.2)

3. EDX
This observation condition is well-suited for observing specimens that do not produce
adequate brightness/contrast levels. Select [EDX] for EDX analysis in addition to general
sample observation.
When [EDX] is selected, the [H] mark is displayed in the information area located in the
lower right part of the image observation area. (see 4.3.2)

Signal Select / Observation Mode Settings

The image signals (BSE / SE / Mix) and the observation modes (Conductor / Standard /
Chg-up Red.) can be set using the signal select / observation mode selection buttons. The
current image signal is indicated by a green border. If the Signal Select / Observation mode
is switched during observation, [Auto B/C] adjustment is executed. The observation mode is
switched every time the same button is clicked, and the current mode is indicated under
either of the signal select buttons to be selected. Select a desired condition, depending on
the specimen to be observed, the observation purpose and the magnification settings.
Besides, it is recommended to fix the observation mode (i.e. fix the mode to [Standard] or
[Chg-up Red.]), when observing the fixed field of view using each image signal (BSE / SE /
Mix).
The signal select / observation mode previously selected will be applied upon the application
startup.
