APPENDIX 1 Roughness Parameters

1. RSm (Mean Spacing of Profile Irregularities)
Average interval measured in average line direction between local peaks or valleys

2. Rlr (Profile Length Ratio)
Total length of a cross-sectional curve divided by the length of a segment (in percent)

3. Rpm (Average Maximum Profile Peak Height)
The reference length is divided into 5 equal parts, for each segment the height of the
center line peak is calculated, and Rpm refers to the arithmetic mean of the center line
peaks.
