It is possible to insert more than one IED from the Create New
Object from Template window and the selection window remains
open until the user clicks Close.
Inserting a configured IED in 650 series
Configured IEDs in 650 series in PCM600 are available as *.pcmi files and include all
information that is related to the IED object in PCM600. The configured IEDs in 650
series is bound to a specific hardware configuration. Configured IEDs in 650 series are
available on the Connpack DVD as .pcmi files under the file named User
documentation.
Two alternatives to insert configured IEDs in 650 series:
• Use the configured IEDs in 650 series that has been ordered together with the
IED.
• Create an own configuration, export the configuration as *.pcmi file and use it to
configure other IEDs.
Procedure to insert a configured IED in 650 series
1. Right-click the bay and select Import ... to select the IED configuration file
(*.pcmi) , see Figure

2. Import the *.pcmi file from the bay level in the plant structure.
3. Click OK to insert the new IED object in the plant structure.
4. Modify the configuration according to the needed application.
5. Write the configuration to the IED.
