The
:MEASURE:FALLTIME
command places the instrument
in the
continuous measurement
mode
and starts
a
Falltime measurement.
The
FALLTIME
query measures and outputs the fall time
of
the first
displayed falling (negative-going)
edge.
For
best
measurement
accuracy
set
the sweep speed
as
fast
as
possible while leaving the falling edge of the
waveform on the display.
The falltime
is
determined by measuring
the
time
at
the upper threshold of the falling edge then measuring
the time at
the
lower threshold of
the
falling
edge and calculating the falltime with the
formula:
fall time
=
time at lower threshold point
-
time at upper threshold
point
If
the horizontal scaling
is
questionable when
this measurement
is
made
and "error
11" is
placed in the error queue.
