G. Cooling System

Coolant

Use fresh water or normal tap water as the coolant water.
Do not use strong acid or alkaline water. Use of the
genuine Hitachi Long-Life Coolant (LLC) mixed by 33 to
50 % is recommended.
If the air temperature is expected to fall below 0 °C (32
°F), fill the cooling system with Long-Life Coolant (LLC)
and soft water mix. As a general rule, the ratio of LLC
should range between 33% and 50% as shown in the
table below. If the ratio is below 33%, the system may
develop rust, and if it is above 50%, the engine may
overheat.

Supplement Coolant Additive DCA4

The coolant contains the supplement coolant additive
(SCA) DCA4 chemistry. The DCA4 concentration level
must be maintained through routine maintenance.
To maintain the proper DCA4 level, change the coolant
filter using the specified filter WF2072 every 500 hours.
Refer to the following table for the filters and coolant
additive to be used.
Every 500 hours
When replacing
coolant
When adding coolant or the coolant concentration is
adjusted, the DCA4 level maybe lowered.
Contact your nearest authorized dealer for the DCA4
level check and adjustment.

Precautions for Using DCA4

d
WARNING: DCA4 includes alkali. Avoid splashing
DCA4 in your eyes or swallowing it. If DCA4 is
splashed into your eyes or swallowed, follow the
instructions shown below. Keep out of reach of
children.
 Exposure tolerances
Slight skin exposure to DCA4 will cause no serious
problems. However, longer or repeated exposure times,
inhaling, swallowing or splashing DCA4 in your eyes will
cause serious problems. Take the emergency measures
shown below.

 Disposal
Be careful not to spill DCA4 on machine or ground. If
DCA4 is spilt, wipe it up and clean contaminated surface
thoroughly.
Use a container to collect spilt DCA4 and consign it
to professional disposers. Disposal of surplus DCA4
when changing coolant should also be assigned to
professional disposers.
