Identification of Drive Boxes

Drive bay numbering depends on how the drive backplanes are connected.
Controller
・When connected to onboard SATA ports
・When connected to PCI board (AROC Type-a) installed in RAID controllerdedicated slot
・When connected to RAID controller PCI board installed in riser card
SAS expander
Install on a 1st riser card or a 2nd riser card.

Drive bay numbers when a RAID controller is used

If the drive back plane is directly connected to the controller, the drive bay number starts from 1.
