INSTALLING THE ENGINE

1. Install:
D bolt (front under) 1
D bolt (rear under) 2
D bolt (rear upper) 3
D bolt (front upper) 4
D engine bracket 5
D engine bracket 6
D engine brackets 7
NOTE:
Do not fully tighten the bolts.
2. Tighten the bolts in the following order.
D self locking nut 8
D bolt (front upper) 4
D engine bracket bolts 9
3. Install:
D chain cover
CAUTION:
Connecting the neutral switch lead, starter
motor and A.C. generator leads should be
through under the neutral switch.
Face the terminal cover to right-under side,
then assemble the chain cover without the
both leads being caught.
4. Install:
D shift arm 1
NOTE:
D Align the punch mark a in the shift shaft with
the slot in the shift arm.
D Align the bottom edge of the shift pedal with
the mark on the frame-to-swingarm bracket.
ADJUSTING bolt length
276.8 mm
