INSTALLING THE GENERATOR

1. Install:
D starter clutch assembly
D woodruff key 1
D generator rotor 2
D washer
D generator nut
NOTE:
D Clean the tapered portion of the crankshaft
and the generator rotor hub.
D When installing the generator rotor, make sure
the woodruff key is properly seated in the key
way of the crankshaft.
2. Tighten:
D generator rotor nut 1
NOTE:
D While holding the generator rotor 2 with the
sheave holder 3 , tighten the generator rotor
nut.
D Do not allow the sheave holder to touch the
projection on the generator rotor.

3. Apply:
D sealant
(onto stater coil assembly lead grommet)
Yamaha bond No.1215
90890-85505
4. Install:
D stator coil
D generator cover
NOTE:
Tighten the generator cover bolts in stages and
in a crisscross pattern.
5. Install:
D footrest/shift pedal
ENG
80 Nm (8.0 mDkg)
