4. KDS-100 Configuration
2 PC: The KPG-71 operates on a PC. The PC must have
at least one unused serial (COM) port.
3 KDS-100: The KDS-100 is the terminal that is being
configured.
4 Connection cable: This cable is used to connect the
KDS-100 to the PC.
5 Transceiver: The transceiver is connected to the
KDS-100.
Note: If the serial port on your PC does not accept the DB-25
connector (D-sub 25 pin), use a general purpose DB-25 to DB-9
converter.

4.2. KPG-71D operations

The following splash screen appears when starting up
the KPG-71D. The display then changes to the main
display.
4.2.1. Main Window description
The main window appears automatically after the
initial screen.
1 Window: Various windows appear here.
2 File name: Displays the file name to which the
currently programmed configuration will be saved.
3 Menu: You can perform all operations of the
KPG-71D from here.

4 Tool bar: You can set frequently used operations
as icons. The same operations can be performed
from the Menu.
5 Status bar: Displays the current status.

4.2.1.1. Menu description

Following are descriptions of the Menu commands.
Files: Allows you to create and save new
configuration files.
Model: Allows you to select a protocol to configure.
You can configure a protocol to suit your operating
environment.

Edit: Allows you to adjust various configurations of
the KDS-100.

Program: Allows you to upload or download the
configuration of the KDS-100.
Tools: Allows you to check the initial data of the
connected KDS-100.
Setup: Allows you to select a port to be used for
transmission.

View: Allows you to adjust the configurations that
relate to the KPG-71D main window.

Window: Allows you to adjust the data configuration
window of the KPG-71D.
Help: Allows you to display the help files.

A pull-down menu appears when selecting each
command.

Operations are displayed as icons in the tool bar.
Following are descriptions of the icons.
