This manual covers the installation and use of the Epson # 8133
INTERFACE - a parallel printer interface card for the APPLE II,
APPLE II+ and APPLE Ile. (It is not suitable for the APPLE Ile.)
It is compatible with the ESC/P™ standard which Epson has produced
for its printers.
Epson ESC/P command sequences can be used.
It has a set of mnemonic commands which is compatible with
control codes used by other printer cards such as the Grappler
interface. These commands use the APPLE software <CTRL>-1
sequence.
• The enhanced graphics features allow bit imaging, even with word
processors.
• The complete ASCII character set from
O to 255 can be sent to the
printer, even from a word processor file.
• There are sophisticated graphics commands for high-resolution
screen dumps with options for enlargement either horizontally or
vertically (or both) and rotation. Screens can be mixed and enhanced
using a variety of dot-densities and shading.
• High-resolution screen dumps can be produced with solid black
areas without fine gaps.
• Text screens can be dumped.
• Both DOS 3.3 and ProDOS are supported.
It is fully compatible with PASCAL and CP/M, including graphics
screen dumping.
Full compatibility is maintained with programs like AppleWorks.
