print mode is changed by means of a Selectype feature, i.e. by means
of the control panel rather than a software command, the command
setting will not be restored.
It
is equivalent to the ESC/P sequence
<ESC>
@.
In the same way, the interface has a number of default settings. For
example, output of a carriage return is also accompanied by a line feed
when the interface is switched on. The command
<CTRL> ·I
Z resets the
board to its default state. The commands affected by
<CTRL> ·I
Z, and
the settings made are:

In its normal mode of operation, whenever the# 8133 interface
receives a carriage return character (ASCII 13) from the APPLE. it
sends it to the printer followed by a line feed command (ASCII 10). If.
for some reason, it is only necessary to return the print head to the
beginning of a line and print on that same line, the line feeds can be
suppressed by the command:

The interface defaults to the state of not echoing printer output to
the screen as well. Echoing can be switched on and off using the
<CTRL>·I I
and
<CTRL>·I J
commands.
The use of
<CTRL>·I
Z will only affect these commands; it is
equivalent to giving all the commands in the right-hand column at one
time. If you have used another command, such as the one to select
enlarged or double-strike printing, you will have to use
<CTRL>·I
@
to
reset these in the printer. If the printer does not give the correct
output, try giving both the
<CTRL>-1
Z and
<CTRL>-1
@
commands and
try printing again. The
<CTRL>-1
V command can be used to cancel
double-strike, bold (emphasized) and double width printing in a single
command.
