In addition to the interface board, you will require an #8231
interface cable.
l
Insert the connector of the# 8231 cable into the socket on the# 8133
board as shown in the diagram. It is only possible to insert the plug
one way round; the wires coming from the plug should be on the side
away from the surface of the interface board.
2
Make sure the APPLE is SWITCHED OFF. If you try to insert or
remove a card while the APPLE is switched on, you are likely not
only to damage the card, but also the APPLE. Any such damage is not
covered under warranty agreements.
3
Remove the cover from the APPLE and locate the slots at the back
of the circuit board. Details of how to remove the cover and the
position of the slots are given in the documentation supplied with the
APPLE.
4
Insert the card in slot l. This is the left-hand slot on the APPLE Ile
(with the keyboard at the front) and the second from the left on an
APPLE II or II+. If you are not sure how to insert cards, consult your
APPLE documentation.
5
Replace the cover of the APPLE and connect the socket on the
back of the printer as described in the printer manual.
6
Check with the printer manual that the DIP switches are correctly
set. The APPLE automatically sends a line feed with every carriage
return, so the following printer DIP switches should be set to OFF:
