Troubleshooting on communication between a high speed data
logger module and access target module
Symptom
Unable to access another station via an
Ethernet module.
An error occurs when accessing a
process CPU (redundant mode) in a
redundant system
Unable to access another station via the
built-in Ethernet port of a high speed data
logger module.
An error such as timeout or data missing
occurs when accessing another station
via the built-in Ethernet port of a high
speed data logger module.
"Errors detected in the CPU module"
occur when the high speed data logger
module is starting up.

Troubleshooting on an SD memory card

Symptom
Unable to format the SD memory card.
When SD memory card is accessed by a
personal computer, the following items
occur.
• File size is displayed as 0 bytes.
• A space is added to the end of the data
in a file.
• File error, file entry error, file size error
messages are displayed and unable to
open files.
The files in the SD memory card are
vanished when the power interruption
occurred.
Check point
Is a remote password set for the engineering tool
communication port (UDP/IP) of the Ethernet module
on the target or relay station?
Is a process CPU (redundant mode) of another station
accessed?
Has the fast system switching (every 100 ms etc.)
occurred continuously after passing the timeout time
set with the access target CPU setting?
Are the devices on the communication route (such as
router) operating normally?
Is the access target a CPU module of Q series or L
series?
In that case, is UDP (MELSOFT Connection) added to
the open setting for a built-in Ethernet port of the
access target CPU?
If a device (such as router) except for Ethernet (twisted
pair) cables and hubs exists on the access route, is the
device operating normally?
Is "4B00H" stored in the source error?
Is the other CPU on the multiple CPU system, or the
other CPU accessing the other station via the
controlled Network module?
Check point
Is the SD memory card being accessed?
Was file access stopped before ejecting or replacing
the SD memory card regardless of the power ON/OFF
status?
Is there a problem with the type of SD memory card?
Was the power turned OFF or control CPU reset when
writing data to the SD memory card?
Corrective action
• Remove the remote password.
• Review the system so that the process CPU
(redundant mode) of another station is not accessed.
• Review the system so that the fast system switching
does not occur continuously.
• Check their operating status.
• Perform the PING test for the high speed data logger
module from the access target CPU module side
(built-in Ethernet port CPU or Ethernet module), then
turn the power of own station OFF and ON.
• Add UDP (MELSOFT Connection).
• Check the status of route and that of device (such as
router) on the route.
• Reconfigure the communication route to the access
target CPU with Ethernet (twisted pair) cables and
hubs.
• Clear the error of the high speed data logger module
after the CPU on the multiple CPU system is
activated.
Corrective action
• Wait until the SD memory card access is completed.
• Always stop file access before ejecting or replacing
the SD memory card regardless of the power ON/
OFF status. (MELSEC iQ-R High Speed Data
Logger Module User's Manual (Startup))
• To repair the SD memory card with errors, perform
either of the following options.
Insert the SD memory card with errors in the high
speed data logger module again. After stopping file
access, eject the SD memory card. (MELSEC iQ-
R High Speed Data Logger Module User's Manual
(Startup))
Execute the chkdsk command on the Windows
command prompt.
• Use the available SD memory card. (MELSEC
iQ-R High Speed Data Logger Module User's Manual
(Startup))
• Stop file access before turning OFF the power or
reset the control CPU. (MELSEC iQ-R High
Speed Data Logger Module User's Manual (Startup))
• Format SD memory card. (Page 221 SD
