Unplug the PBX from the AC outlet if it emits smoke, an abnormal smell or makes unusual noise. These
conditions can cause fire or electric shock. Confirm that smoke has stopped and contact an authorized
Panasonic Factory Service Center.
Do not remove the Storage Memory Card while power is supplied to the PBX. Doing so may cause the
PBX to fail to start when you try to restart the system.
To the Administrator or Installer regarding account passwords
1.
Please provide all system passwords to the customer.
2.
To avoid unauthorized access and possible abuse of the PBX, keep the passwords secret, and inform
the customer of the importance of the passwords, and the possible dangers if they become known to
others.
3.
The PBX has no passwords set initially. For security, select an installer password as soon as the PBX
system is installed at the site.
4.
Change the passwords periodically.
5.
It is strongly recommended that passwords of 10 numbers or characters be used for maximum
protection against unauthorized access.
6.
If a User (User) account password is forgotten, it can be confirmed and/or changed by a User
(Administrator) or Installer account. If a User (Administrator) account is forgotten, it can be confirmed
and/or changed by the Installer account. For details, see 2.1.1 Web Maintenance Console
Accounts.
Note
For User (Administrator) accounts to change User (User) account passwords, the Installer account
must use the Screen Customize tool to allow User (Administrator) accounts to view the
User—User Profiles screen. For details, see the following sections:
6.7 Tool—Screen Customize
8.1 Users—User Profiles
If the Installer level password is forgotten, you must reset the PBX to its factory defaults and reprogram
it. Therefore, we strongly recommend maintaining a backup of the system data. For more information
on how to back up the system data, see the following sections:
6.1 Tool—System Data Backup
6.8 Tool—UM Data Backup
