General information

The measuring cycles use separate GUD and LUD variables (Global User Data and Local
User Data).
The memory areas needed for this are configured using NC machine data.
The amount of memory needed for GUD variables is determined when loading data modules
GUD5 and GUD6!
If the "Measure in JOG" function is installed, data module GUD7 (as of measuring cycles SW
6.3: GUD7_MC) will also have to be loaded.
For more details on "Measuring in JOG": see the the following chapter.
LUD variables are only generated during program and cycle runtime. The memory needed
for them (DRAM) is therefore used during program processing.
This LUD memory should be configured with a sufficient reserve because the NC may have
vastly differing memory requirements in different phases of program processing.
Note
Memory of the measuring cycles
The memory needed directly for the system frames, GUDs and LUDs functions in relation to
measuring cycles is ensured by the parameter settings shown in sections 9.1.1.2, 9.1.1.3,
and 9.1.2.
Future versions of the measuring cycles
Future versions of the measuring cycles may possibly need different parameter settings from
those described here. For current data, see files SIEMENSD.TXT or SIEMENSE.TXT in the
measuring cycle software supplied.
