Calibrating probe length

General information

By selecting "length", it is possible to calibrate the probe in the infeed axis on a suitable and
precisely known surface, e.g. on the workpiece. The precise length 1 (L1) of the prove is also
determined and entered in the tool offset memory.
Note the setting of _CBIT[14]:
_CBIT[14]=0: L1 referred to ball center
_CBIT[14]=1: L1 ref. to ball circumference
Approaching the calibration surface
The probe must be positioned opposite to the calibration surface of the reference or
workpiece.
Enter details in input form
Enter the known dimension (workpiece coordinate) of the calibration surface, referred to the
WCS active when calibrating.
Note the settings in data block GUD6:
• Active zero offset during measurement:
• Active working plane during measurement:
4-10
