If the master switch is operated during travel in SAM mode, this mode must be terminated
immediately. Travel then continues in manual mode. The crane driver thus has the option of
terminating travel in SAM mode at any time and continuing operation in manual mode.
Note
In order to permit on-the-fly switchover from MAN mode to SAM mode, it is therefore advisable
to program a certain time period (e.g. 2 s) during which operation of the master switch is
permissible for the hoist after SAM mode is started. The crane driver will therefore have enough
time to move the master switch for the hoist to the zero position after starting travel in SAM
mode.
6.20

Slack rope

If the SLACKROPE control bit is set, the following reactions are triggered:
● The output velocity for the hoist is reduced with parameter P47. This applies in all operating
modes.
● The status bit "Slack rope on the waterside" is set and the START_AUTO_OK status bit is
reset if the trolley is on the waterside. This applies in all operating modes.
● The hoist is lifted until the maximum position for the hoist programmed in parameter P69 is
reached. This applies only in SAM mode, not in the POS or MAN modes.
The hoist is not lifted when P47=0. In this case, the SLACKROPE control bit does not
influence the trajectory.
● The internally learned blocked regions and those calculated by the bay scanner are not
updated while the SLACKROPE control bit is set.
Note
It is advisable to implement monitoring of the SLACKROPE control bit in the higher-level control
system. This avoids unnecessary lifting of the hoist in SAM mode.
When the bit is functioning correctly, it should be reset after a few seconds during the lift
operation.
6.21

Override

The output velocity can be reduced in all operating modes using an externally specifiable
override between 0% and 100%.
This velocity reduction is useful for:
● External specification of the field-weakening velocity for the hoist, i.e. lifting and lowering at
reduced velocity
● Commissioning purposes, test with reduced velocity of the trolley and hoist
● Dynamic reduction of the maximum velocity in the prelimit switch area
