Global variables - connection between the components

3.2.3.1

Overview

The function blocks are connected to the S7 using global variables in the I/O area.
The connection of the function blocks to the DCC blocks and from SIMOCRANE Basic
Technology to the DCC blocks is made using global and unit-global variables.
To achieve a high control quality and eliminate runtime loss, the output values for the trolley and
the hoist are applied directly to the technology objects for the individual drives. The current
position values are also fetched directly from the drive (see Chapters DCC_SCHOIST
(Page 38) and DCC_SCTROLLEY (Page 40)).
The signals from SIMOCRANE Basic Technology, as well as those from and to the technology
objects, are described in Chapters AddOn technology – Basic Technology (Page 35) and
AddOn technology – technology objects (Page 36).
Note
Although some signals that come from Basic Technology or that form the interface to the
technology objects have the data type LREAL, they are processed in the DINT data format in
the "SwayControl" AddOn. Consequently, these signals have only the value range of the DINT
data format, i.e. -2
Note
If the MCC source files "AddOn" and "Camera" and the DCC source file "SwayControl" have
been transferred from the supplied application project, the existing connections will also be
transferred. It is not necessary to set up the interconnections manually.
Using an example, the following figure shows the signal flow from the hoist block of the S7 to
the DCC_SCHOIST DCC block (Release) and back (Ready = answer from Release).
