Changing Engine Oil and Filter

Change oil and filter initially after the first 8 hours of op-
eration. Change oil every 50 hours and the filter every
100 hours thereafter.
1. Remove drain plug letting the oil flow into the drain
pan. When the oil stops flowing, install drain plug.
2. Remove oil filter. Apply a light coat of clean oil to the
new filter gasket.
3. Screw filter on by hand until the gasket contacts the
filter adapter. Tighten filter from 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn fur-
ther. Do not overtighten.
4. Add oil to crankcase, (see Check Engine Oil).
5. Dispose of oil properly.

Replacing Fuel Filter

An in–line filter is incorporated into the fuel line. Change
filter every 800 hours. Use the following procedures
when replacement becomes necessary:
1.
Close fuel shut–off valve.
2. Clamp both fuel lines that connect to the fuel filter so
gasoline cannot drain when lines are removed.
Since gasoline is highly flammable, drain
it outdoors and make sure engine is cool
to prevent a potential fire hazard. Wipe up
any gasoline that may have spilled. Do
not drain gasoline near any open flame or
where gasoline fumes may be ignited by a
spark. Do not smoke a cigar, cigarette, or
a pipe when handling gasoline.
3. Loosen hose clamps at both ends of the filter. Pull
fuel lines off the filter.
4. Slide hose clamps onto ends of the fuel lines. Push
fuel lines onto fuel filter, and secure them with hose
clamps. Make sure arrow on the side of the filter points
towards the carburetor.
