4.1.3 Operation for Ctrl-R features

Create Virtual Drive
This chapter describes the procedure for creating the Virtual Drive by the "Ctrl-R". Before creating the Virtual
Drive, be sure to read the precautions described below carefully.
1) The Physical Device of the Drive Group should have the same capacity, rotation speed, and other
specifications.
2) After building the Virtual Drive, be sure to perform the Consistency Check.
3) To install the Virtual Drive under this RAID controller to the OS, create only the Virtual Drive for installation to
OS.
The procedure for creating the Virtual Drive is described below:
 When creating the new Virtual Drive
Display the "VD Mgmt" screen, place a cursor on this RAID controller, and then press the <F2> key. The
operation menu is displayed. Place a cursor on "Create Virtual Drive", and press the <Enter> key.

Tips
In the first Consistency Check after building the Virtual Drive, a lot of inconsistencies
may be detected. However, it is not a problem.
