7.3 Insulation test

7.3
Insulation test
POM4220
Due to the protective impedances and filter capacitors installed in the device, you must
remove the following connectors from the Power Output Module (POM) before performing an
insulation test on the equipment:
● Plug connectors for the line supply X2
● Plug connectors for the heating elements X1, X3
Due to the protective impedances, the following protective conductor current flows under
normal operating conditions:
Voltage
230 V / 50 Hz
277 V / 50 Hz
POM4320
Because of the protective impedances in the device, the isolation resistance of a device of
each phase to ground with an open load is around 124 kΩ and around 70 kΩ with connected
heating loads. These values must be taken into account for an isolation test.
With multiple devices in a circuit, you have to factor in the parallel connection of the
impedances. You may need to remove the device from the circuit prior to the isolation test.
Due to the protective impedances, the following protective conductor current flows under
normal operating conditions:
Voltage
400 V / 50 Hz
480 V / 60 Hz
