8.3.1

Device configuration PROFINET HCS4200

Device configuration
In the case of PROFINET, the structure of the hardware is mirrored in the TIA device
configuration:
Slot number
The configuration rules are as follows:
CIM
Slot 0 represents the PROFINET connection with the two ports. The CIM provides a slot for
an I/O module. The CIM module and the CIM I/O module are assigned to slot 1 and are
designed as submodules. If an I/O module is not used, subslot 1.2 remains empty.
POM
A maximum of 24 POMs can be operated on one CIM.
Note
The device configuration in the project engineering must match the configuration of the HCS
that actually exists.
Otherwise no startup can take place. Exception: Use of configuration control (see
Configuration control (option handling) (Page 115)).
